Ashteroth:
The same as Ashteroth, a city of Bashan, where Og afterwards reigned. or, the plains of Kiriathaim, Kiriathaim was beyond Jordan, 10 miles west-ward from Medeba, and afterwards belonged to Sihon, king of Heshbon. "And Kirjathaim, and Sibmah, and Zarethshahar in the mount of the valley," {Jsh 13:19} + "Against Moab thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Woe unto Nebo! for it is spoiled: Kiriathaim is confounded [and] taken: Misgab is confounded and dismayed." {Jer 48:1} + "And upon Kiriathaim, and upon Bethgamul, and upon Bethmeon," {Jer 48:23}
